Policies and Procedures
Arrival
Please arrive for your appointment 10-15 minutes before the scheduled start time. This allows you time to fill out the appropriate client form (new clients), find parking, and locate the spa. All treatment sessions have a specific schedule, and early arrival allows for a relaxed and unhurried service. If late arrival is inevitable, your service may be shortened to keep on schedule, and the original treatment time may be charged.
Cancellation Policy and Fees
Your therapy times are reserved exclusively for you. We value your business and ask that you respect our scheduling policies. Should you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance.
Any cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are subject to a full-service charge. Clients who miss their appointments without prior notification will be charged in full for the scheduled service. When you miss an appointment with us, our therapists not only lose your business but also the potential business of other clients who could have scheduled an appointment at that time. Additionally, many of our staff operate on an “on-call” basis and may have traveled to the office specifically for your service. For these reasons, we must compensate our staff for their time.
All services require a credit card or gift certificate to guarantee a reservation. You will not be billed unless there is a cancellation or no-show. Upon checkout, guests may choose their method of payment and are not obligated to use their credit card. The spa accepts Venmo, Cash App, and/or Debit/Credit Card payments.
Payment Policy
To schedule an appointment, we request a 50% deposit upon booking. This ensures that clients are committed to their appointments and helps us manage our schedule efficiently. The remaining balance will be due upon completion of your service.
Late Arrival Policy
All treatment sessions have a specific time schedule; therefore, we regret that late arrivals may not receive an extension of scheduled appointments. In special cases, and when our schedule allows, we may be able to accommodate a partial or full appointment. This will be at our discretion and only with proper, advanced notification of your late arrival. The original reservation fee will be charged.
No Show Policy
At E'LAN SPA & WELLNESS, we understand that unanticipated events occur in everyone’s life, such as car problems, business meetings, and children’s illnesses. However, we ask that you call if you cannot keep your appointment. Clients who miss their appointments without giving prior notification may be charged in full for the scheduled service.
Informed Consent
Prior to each massage session, the treatment plan will be discussed with you. At your first visit with us, you will be asked to sign a treatment consent form stating that you have read the information, understand it, and agree to comply with our professional massage therapy or acupuncture policies and procedures. Clients who have not been seen for at least a year may also be asked to fill out this form.
Reservations
To help ensure that you obtain your desired appointments, we recommend scheduling as far in advance as possible. To secure your appointment, a credit card is required at the time of booking. Gift certificates may also be used in lieu of a credit card to hold your appointment. We hold this information as part of our cancellation policies and only make necessary charges to your account on the date of your scheduled service. Details of our cancellation policy are provided above.
*Please notify the spa of any allergies or sensitivities to aromas or ingredients when scheduling your appointment or list them on your client intake form.
Scope of Practice
E'LAN SPA & WELLNESS therapists are North Carolina licensed professionals held to the highest standards of the North Carolina Board of Massage & Bodywork Therapy.
Massage therapy is a profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques and may use adjunctive therapies to positively affect the health and well-being of the client.
Licensed Massage Therapists, Acupuncturists, and Reflexologists do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions. Our therapists may refer you to a medical doctor for diagnosis or treatment. Our services are not intended as an alternative for proper medical attention for specific conditions. Please refer to a medical doctor for any condition that requires medical treatment.
Respect for Client Needs and Boundaries
Our Massage Therapists are happy to adjust pressure, temperature, musical volume, work longer on an area, or move on if you request it.
Clients may choose to leave on as much clothing as needed for comfort, refuse any massage methods, or stop the massage at any time.
Clients will always be modestly draped. Only the area being massaged will be undraped. Clients will be kept informed of the area being massaged.
Sexual interaction or discussion of any kind between the client and the massage therapist is NEVER appropriate.
Confidentiality and Conversation
We treat all client visits and conditions as confidential. We will not discuss your visit with anyone outside our staff without your express permission.
Clients may choose to talk or not talk during the massage. Conversation will be guided by the client’s direction.
Existing and New Medical Conditions
It is the responsibility of the client to keep the massage therapist informed of any medical treatment currently being taken and to provide written permission from the physician, chiropractor, physical therapist, etc., that the massage may continue.
Clients must also keep the massage therapist informed of any changes in health conditions.
For clients undergoing chemo and radiation therapies, please note that we require a doctor’s note stating that the doctor is aware of and agrees to the desired treatment.
